Privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026. This policy explains how evchargecost.com.au (ABN 93 983 776 482, “we”) handles information. We aim to follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- Calculator inputs stay on your device. Your car, state, kilometres, charging mix and rates are saved in your browser’s local storage so the calculator remembers them next time. They are not sent to us. You can clear them with the calculator’s Reset button or by clearing your browser’s site data.
- Theme preference (light or dark) is also stored in local storage on your device.
- Hosting logs. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
- Analytics. We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views. It does not use cookies or identify you.
- Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.
We don’t ask you to create an account, we don’t sell personal information, and we don’t run a mailing list. If we ever add one, we will only send marketing emails with your consent and with an unsubscribe link, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Cookies and advertising
The site does not currently set advertising cookies. If we add advertising or analytics that use cookies, we will update this policy before doing so and explain what is collected, by whom, and how to opt out.
Overseas disclosure
Cloudflare may process technical data on servers outside Australia, including the United States.
Access, correction and complaints
We generally hold no personal information about visitors other than emails sent to us. To access or correct information we hold, or to make a privacy complaint, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
